“We want to express gratitude”: Cherchesov, Dziuba and Zagitova visited a straight line with Putin
Head coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov, players Artem Dzyuba, Alan Dzagoev and Vladimir Gabulov, as well as Olympic champion Pyonchkhana and figure skater Alina Zagitova took part in a straight line with Vladimir Putin. Even before the start of the broadcast, the mentor of the national team admitted that he was used to answering questions rather than asking them. Meanwhile, the Zenit attacker noted that he had no questions for the head of state, he just wanted to thank Putin for organizing the 2018 World Cup.
"I lost the habit of asking questions"
An annual straight line with Vladimir Putin took place in Moscow, during which citizens of Russia and residents of other countries had the opportunity to ask the head of state their questions in real time. In addition to economic, social, political and many other topics, it was a question of sports.
The studio was attended by the head coach of the Russian national football team Stanislav Cherchesov, Zenit St. Petersburg forward Artem Dzyuba, CSKA midfielder Alan Dzagoev, Olympic champion Pyongchhan Alina Zagitova, and former goalkeeper of the national team Vladimir Gabulov, currently holding the post of Minister of Physical Culture and Sports North Ossetia. They did not manage to talk with the president, but the appearance in the studio at such an important event was an event for them.
So, before the start of the live broadcast, Cherchesov admitted that he was anxious, because for him such a format is unusual. However, he did not disclose what he would like to ask Putin.
“This is the place where you can finally ask a question. I was even confused, because for two and a half years only people asked me questions. They all start with why and why. Unaccustomed to this. Let's see better, ”the tutor said.
However, this time Cherchesovu had to answer a few questions. So, the presenters of the live broadcast asked whether the Russian team would take part in the 2020 European Championship and whether fans should go to St. Petersburg, where four matches will take place as part of the final part of the tournament.
“You are, yes, worth it. We have to. We seem to be in the bargain, ”the expert joked.
At the moment, the national team takes the second place in its group, having won three victories over the teams of Kazakhstan, San Marino and Cyprus, as well as having suffered one defeat against Belgium.
In turn, Dziuba attended the event in order to thank the President of the country for organizing the 2018 World Cup.
“We want to thank Vladimir Vladimirovich and everyone who so popularized football. Now a lot of boys are engaged in this sport - this is amazing. I have no questions, ”admitted the attacker.
On the eve of the direct line, Zagitova told what question she would ask the head of state if she had the opportunity.
“I would like to ask Putin if it is possible that Russia will hold major international competitions, such as the world championship in figure skating,” the figure skater said.
Dziuba supported the Olympic champion Pyeongchang.
“I agree with Zagitova. The world championship in figure skating can and should be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg. Because we saw how grandiose the world championship was, ”the team captain added.
The last time the world championship in figure skating took place in Moscow in 2011. On it, the Russians managed to win two medals - Arthur Hill-Gachinsky took the third place among men, and the dancing couple Tatyana Volosozhar - Maxim Trankov became the owner of silver.
"Important area of work"
As for the most direct line, which lasted more than four hours, then it, first of all, spoke about the social component of sports. So, Putin commended the non-profit project for the construction of indoor sports arenas in the territories of educational institutions. He noted that it is necessary to facilitate the implementation of this idea.
“I will talk about this issue with the authorities of Moscow and St. Petersburg and other colleagues. The main thing is to ensure the smooth and high-quality work of educational institutions. In general, this is the right project that contributes to the development of inter-school and inter-university competitions. A very important area, ”the president stressed.
In addition, the head of state received an invitation to play hockey from the owner of the Penza confectionery factory Nikolay Kuzyakov.
“We have a highly developed hockey school, we have released many athletes at the level of national teams. You played hockey in Sochi, our governor is also involved in this sport. And I have a dream to go with you to one site in the city of Penza, ”admitted Kuzyakov.
