On June 18, the 63-year-old Platini was detained in a suburb of Paris in connection with an investigation into a corruption case concerning the award of Qatar the right to host the 2022 World Cup.
Platini was elected to the post of UEFA president in 2007. In 2015, he was suspended from duty, and subsequently disqualified for eight years on corruption charges. In May 2016, the term for removing a Frenchman from football activities was reduced to four years.
Earlier it was reported that Platini was released from custody after testifying.
