++ From Romania to Finistère: when Roxana Maracineanu recounted her exile and her sports success

1998, the world title in Perth

In January 1998, Roxana Maracineanu's athletic career took on a new dimension. Already a silver medalist in the 200m backstroke and bronze in the 1997 backstroke in 1997, she took the world title in the 200m backstroke in Perth, Australia. In 2'11'26 (new French record at the time), she was ahead of Germany's Dagmar Hase and Japan's Mai Nakamura.

2000 Olympic money in Sydney

In Sydney, at the Olympic Games, Roxana Maracineau beats her French record again on her favorite distance, the 200m backstroke. With a time of 2'10''25, she took the silver medal, only ahead of the gold by her compatriot Diana Mocanu of Romania. Japan's Miki Nakao completes the podium.

2012, a name (and a voice) as a consultant

On the occasion of the London Games, France Televisions hires the former swimmer, who put an end to her sporting career in 2004. Roxana Maracineanu had already rubbed shoulders with the TV sets for France Télé in 2007, on the occasion of the Melbourne, as well as for The TV Team. She was also consultant for Europe 1. Back behind the microphone in 2012 for the London Olympics, she enters the minds following the Olympic title of Florent Manaudou. His shouts and joy on the air with been more than communicative!

Bonus: in 2010, "boys who have everything in the jersey"

Difficult job is that of consultant TV. Roxana Maracineanu learned the hard way at the European Championships in 2010, in a semi-final of the 4x200 freestyle relay. An unfortunate sentence, quickly resumed, that made us smile!
