Damir Skomina flew Wednesday the first match between Ajax and Real Madrid in the eighth finals of the Champions League. The Slovenian replaces the Pool Szymon Marciniak.
Marciniak was first appointed by the European Football Association UEFA, but he is not fit and will work with compatriot Pawel Gil as video referee (VAR).

The 42-year-old routine whistled the final of the Europa League between Ajax and Manchester United two years ago in Stockholm. The team from Amsterdam lost no chance with 0-2 by goals from Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini.
