The Dutch curlers are still in the battle for a World Cup ticket. The team of skip Jaap van Dorp won the last group duel in qualifying 9-2 against host New Zealand and secured the playoffs.

Depending on the result of the last match between England and South Korea, the Dutch team finishes in second or third place in the rankings.

Place two means a final match against the number one, Tuesday night in Naseby. The winner of that game goes to the World Cup in Canada at the end of March.

The loser will get a second chance for the second starting ticket later in the evening.

The important game against New Zealand was energetic for the curlers. Halfway it was already 7-1, after which the victory was easily won.

The Dutch curling team finished in November eighth at the European Championships in Finland, which forced them to participate in the World Cup qualifying tournament.
