Due to the record cold weather, water pipes in Ishikawa Prefecture have been freezing and bursting, causing water leaks one after another, and water has been cut off in various places since the 26th.

According to NHK's interviews with each local government, as of 11:00 am, water has been cut off in more than 10,000 houses in five cities and towns: Kahoku, Wajima, Hakui, Nanao, and Houdatsushimizu.

Of these, in Kahoku City, the water reservoir of the "distribution reservoir" that temporarily stores water from the tap water supply has become empty, making it impossible to supply water. It means that

In Kahoku City, on the morning of the 28th, in order to stop the water leakage that occurred in the vacant house, which was the cause of the water outage, the staff turned around one house at a time and closed the water supply.

When the staff found an empty house, they used a shovel to dig out more than 20 centimeters of snow near the water meter and shut off the main valve of the water pipe.

On the other hand, in Wajima City, where about 3,400 households continue to have water outages, the Self-Defense Forces have been supplying water in the city since the morning of the 28th after receiving a request from Ishikawa Prefecture to dispatch disaster victims.
