In Takatsuki City, Osaka, an evacuation drill was held assuming damage such as a river breaking due to an approaching typhoon, and about 4,000 residents who participated confirmed the evacuation procedures.

The drill was conducted on the assumption that an emergency warning level typhoon was approaching, causing the Yodo River flowing through the city to flood and an evacuation order to be issued to a wide area. I participated.

Around 10:30 am, about 60 residents gathered along the evacuation route at Tsuchimuro Elementary School, which is designated as an evacuation center in the northern part of Takatsuki City.

At the elementary school, beds made of cardboard and toilets using manholes were prepared, and residents were checking how to use them.

In addition, a drill was conducted for residents to evacuate by municipal bus from areas where flood damage is expected due to the flooding of the Yodo River.

A woman in her 60s who participated said, "It was a good experience because I changed my mind about what to do if a disaster actually happened."

Evacuation drills were held for a week, and drills were held on the city's website and Twitter to call for early evacuation in preparation for the occurrence of landslides, assuming an actual typhoon.

Tomoko Kurita, Deputy Director of Takatsuki City's Cultural Property Division, said, ``It is possible to prepare for flood damage to some extent in advance. I want you to think about it on a regular basis," he said.
