Shinhidaka Town in Hokkaido issued an evacuation order to a total of 7,056 people in 3,803 households, citing the risk of flooding in the Shizunai River that flows through the town.


Evacuation orders have been issued in eight districts:

▽ 329 people from 183 households in Kosei-cho 1-chome,


▽ 461 people from 266 households in Furukawa-cho,


▽ 906 households of 1,593 people in Midoricho,


▽ 680 households of 1,173 people in Aoyagicho,


▽ 716 households of 1,507 people in Asahimachi,


▽ 576 households of 1,219 people in Kamimori.



The information corresponds to level 4 of the 5 alert levels, calling for everyone to evacuate from dangerous places.


So far, the town has opened two evacuation centers: Yamate Gymnasium and Shizunai Third Junior High School.
