Due to record-breaking rainfall, most of the town in Iide Town, Yamagata Prefecture, has had its water supply cut off, and the Ground Self-Defense Forces are conducting water supply activities.

In Iide-machi, about 2,300 houses in most areas of the town have been cut off due to record heavy rain since the 3rd.

According to the town, the cause is believed to be a broken water pipe.

Under these circumstances, the Ground Self-Defense Force, which received a request from the prefecture for disaster relief, is conducting water supply activities at two locations: the Townspeople General Center A-su and the Seibu Community Center.

Among them, at the "Townspeople General Center", people with plastic tanks and plastic bottles lined up to receive water.

A 66-year-old man who had no water at his home said, "Since this morning there has been no water at all, and I have not been able to take a bath or wash the dishes, so the water supply is very helpful."

According to the town, water supply activities by the Self-Defense Forces are carried out from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and the "Chubu Community Center" where water supply is still available is open 24 hours a day.
