On the JR Tadami Line, which was severely damaged by the "Niigata / Fukushima heavy rain" 11 years ago, a test run in a non-communication section has begun in preparation for resuming operation on all lines in October.

The JR Tadami Line, which connects Fukushima and Niigata prefectures, is known as a scenic line that runs like weaving a valley along the Tadami River. The section of about 27 km between Aizu-Kawaguchi Station and Tadami Station in Fukushima Prefecture is still out of service due to damage such as the bridge and railroad tracks being washed away.

Before resuming operation on all lines on October 1, the restoration work of the main equipment such as railroad tracks has been completed, and in the section that has been out of service since 20th, the train will check if there is any problem in running. The test run has started.

On the 20th, a two-car train departed from Aizu-Kawaguchi Station before 10 am and proceeded on the railroad tracks at a slow speed, occasionally sounding a horn.

Railroad fans gathered along the railway line to see the train running for the first time in about 11 years, and it was actively photographed.

According to JR East, test runs in non-communication sections will be conducted almost every day until the end of September, so JR will not approach the railroad tracks during the period and will not bother the local residents when shooting. We are calling for things to do.
