Kagawa Prefecture held a one-day drought countermeasures headquarters meeting before the water storage rate of the Hayamiura Dam declined and the third water intake restriction was enforced from the 2nd. We have decided to utilize the water from Kagawa.

The water storage rate of the Hayamiura Dam, which is the main water source in Kagawa and Tokushima prefectures, is 32.8% as of midnight on the 1st, which is about 55 points lower than normal, and the water storage rate is expected to be lower than 30%. Therefore, from 9:00 am on the 2nd, the third water intake restriction will start to reduce the water supply to Kagawa prefecture by 50%.

The third water intake restriction has been enforced since 2013, and Kagawa Prefecture held a drought countermeasures headquarters meeting on the 1st, and started water intake from the regulating pond "Hozan Lake" in Mitoyo City, and last year, Takamatsu. It was officially decided to use the water from the Kabagawa Dam, which was completed in the city and is storing water on a trial basis, to make up for the additional reduction.

In addition, water supply to general households will be decompressed in the prefecture, and the decompression rate will be raised to 18.5% in some areas of Takamatsu City, as well as Marugame City, Mitoyo City, Sakaide City, and Utazu Town respectively. It means that even in some areas, the pressure will be reduced by 5% to 10%.

Governor Hamada "Situations where you cannot be alert" Help save water

Regarding the start of the third water intake restriction, Governor Hamada of Kagawa Prefecture said, "The third water intake restriction just in July is an unusual situation. I don't think it will come out, but I would like the citizens of the prefecture to cooperate in further saving water in a situation where they cannot be alert. "

On the other hand, Governor Hamada called for sufficient hand washing with tap water to prevent the new coronavirus.

Tadotsu Town Prefectural Toryo Park Hand-washing area weakens water pressure

Prior to the third water intake restriction from the 2nd, work was done to reduce the water pressure in the restroom at Toryo Park in Tadotsu Town, Kagawa Prefecture.

The town officials who worked on it closed the valve on the water pipe of the restroom to adjust the amount of water coming out of the faucet, reducing the amount of water coming out to about one-third of the usual amount.

And I posted a sticker saying "Please cooperate to save more water!".

Yoshinobu Kajita, Deputy Chief of the Prefectural Exchange Promotion Division, said, "We apologize for any inconvenience caused to park users, but we would like to ask for your cooperation in saving water."
