The limestone cave "Kyusen-do" in Kuma-mura, Kumamoto Prefecture, which had been closed due to heavy damage caused by the record heavy rain in July, has resumed operations for the first time in 1 year and 9 months.

Kyusen-do is the largest limestone cave in Kyushu with a total length of 4.8 km.

After the work of removing the earth and sand accumulated in the aisle and the electrical work were completed, the business resumed on the 10th, the first time in 1 year and 9 months.

After the safety prayer festival was held with the attendance of 30 people concerned, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with the participation of Kumamoto Prefecture's mascot character "Kumamon".

On the 10th, the inside of Kyusen-do was opened for free to commemorate the reopening of business.

A fourth grader who visited said, "I'm glad I was able to see a rare stone for the first time because the inside was wide."

Daisuke Inudo, the counselor of the Kuma Village Forestry Association, which operates Kyusen-do, said, "We were finally able to reopen. It took a long time, but we were able to welcome this day with the support of many people." I did.
