According to a contact from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii to the Japan Meteorological Agency, there was an earthquake whose epicenter was off the eastern coast of New Caledonia in the South Pacific at around 5:57 am on the 31st of Japan time.
The magnitude is estimated to be 7.0.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, this earthquake may cause a tsunami near the epicenter, but it has no effect on Japan.
