It has been 11 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake struck on the 11th of this month.

At Sendai Airport, a piano that was damaged by the tsunami at that time was installed as a street piano that anyone could play, and a concert was held.

This piano was located in a house in Shichigahama Town, Miyagi Prefecture, but was damaged by the tsunami of the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 11 years ago.

After that, it was repaired and became usable, but because many scratches remain, it is named "Laura" from Hideki Saijo's hit song "Laura full of scratches".

It was installed at Sendai Airport as a street piano that anyone can play freely from the 1st, hoping that it would be an opportunity to think about the earthquake.

On the 1st, a concert by a pianist from Iwanuma City was held, and visitors stopped and listened to the tone of the piano.

Yumi Sakurai, the owner of this piano and a piano instructor, said, "With the help of various people, listen to the sound of" Laura "that has been revived in this way, see and touch it, and do something about the earthquake. I want you to feel it. "

This damaged piano will be installed in the hall on the 1st floor of Sendai Airport until the 20th of this month.
