6日にかけて、北陸など東日本の日本海側を中心に大雪となる見込みで、6日朝までの24時間に降る雪の量はいずれも多いところで、
▽北陸と新潟県の山沿いで90センチ、
▽東海と近畿で70センチ、
▽東北で60センチなどと予想されています。
7日の朝までの24時間には、
▽北陸と新潟県の山沿いで50センチから70センチ、
▽東海で40センチから60センチ、
▽近畿で30センチから50センチの雪が降る見込みです。
強い寒気は太平洋側にも流れ込むため、東海などの平地でも雪が積もり、大雪となるところがある見込みです。
同じ場所に雪雲が流れ込み続けると、積雪が短時間で急激に増えるおそれもあります。
気象庁は大雪による交通への影響に警戒するとともに、屋根からの落雪、電線や樹木への着雪、なだれなどに十分注意するよう呼びかけています。
日本海側では積雪が平年の2倍以上に達しているところもあり、大雪が予想される地域では、建物の軒下や山の斜面などには近づかず、時間に余裕を持った行動を心がけるようにしてください。
