Every year at Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto City, wind chimes, a traditional craft of Iwate Prefecture, are decorated to commemorate the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake during this time of intense heat. The tone is echoing.

Every year at Kiyomizu-dera, a group of people from Iwate prefecture who live in Kyoto prefecture decorates wind chimes made from Iwate's traditional craft, Nanbu Tekki.

This year, about 500 bell-shaped green and blue wind chimes with a diameter of about 5 cm were displayed in the corridor leading to the main hall, along with strips of wishes.

As the infection of the new coronavirus continues to spread, messages such as "The recovery from the earthquake has been delayed in Corona, but I sincerely hope that it will recover quickly" and "I hope that Corona will converge quickly and return to my original life." Was seen.

The visitors listened to the cool tone that echoed in the precincts while following the letters of the strips swaying in the wind.

A woman in her 50s said, "The heat and tiredness blew away when I heard the sound of the wind chimes. I hope the day when the corona will converge quickly and I can travel all over Japan will come soon."

This wind chime will be displayed until the end of August.
