A facility to convey the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake in Miyagi Prefecture and lessons learned from the earthquake was opened in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture on the 6th, and a commemorative ceremony was held.

Located on the grounds of the Reconstruction Memorial Park on the coast of Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture is the first facility to manage and operate exhibits from the earthquake.

The hall is divided into nine themes such as "Protecting lives from the tsunami", and in the dedicated theater, the images of the tsunami and the testimonies of the residents are shown to appeal to the highest priority to escape to save lives. ..



You can also watch an interview with the storyteller and a video introducing the organizations working on the reconstruction of the area so that you can visit the tradition facilities of the earthquake disaster in various parts of the prefecture.

The Miyagi Great East Japan Earthquake Tsunami Tradition Hall is open from 9 am to 5 pm, except on Mondays and the year-end and New Year holidays, and admission is free.
