The police box in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, which was completely destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake, was rebuilt, and the inauguration ceremony was held on the 5th, more than 10 years after the outbreak.

The Okawa police box in Ishinomaki City has been operating based in the Hebei police station because the building was completely destroyed by the tsunami 10 years ago.

Since the area around the police box was almost uninhabited due to group relocation, it took time to consider the reconstruction location, so the new police box was built in a residential area inland rather than the original location. ..

On the 5th, the inauguration ceremony was held at the new police box, and police officer Takashi Mori, who will be stationed there, said, "Since it was rebuilt here 10 years after the earthquake, we will protect the safety and security of the area and promote reconstruction. I pledge to make an effort to contribute. "

The new police box is a two-story wooden building with a living space where police officers can live and work.

Yoshito Abe, regional chief of the Hebei police station, said, "I think the local residents have been waiting for us, so I would like to work closer to them."
