As of the 9th of this month, 3,775 people have been certified as so-called "earthquake-related deaths" who die due to illness caused by prolonged evacuation.

"Earthquake-related death" is approved by the examination committee established by the local government when a chronic illness worsens due to a prolonged evacuation life or when the person dies due to stress, and if it is approved, the bereaved family. "Disaster condolence money" will be paid to.



According to the Reconstruction Agency and each prefecture, 3,775 people have been certified as "disaster-related deaths" by the 9th of this month after the earthquake.



Since then, 36 new people have been certified.



By prefecture,


▽ Fukushima prefecture has the largest number with 2320 people,


followed by


▽ Miyagi prefecture with 929 people,


▽ Iwate prefecture with 470 people,


▽ Ibaraki prefecture with 42 people,


▽ Chiba prefecture with 4 people,


▽ Kanagawa prefecture and Nagano prefecture. There are 3 people in each


prefecture, 2 people in Yamagata prefecture


, and 1 person each in Saitama prefecture and Tokyo.



Of the 3767 people compiled by the Reconstruction Agency as of the end of September last year, by age group,


3335 people were 66 years old or older, accounting for about 89% of the total,


423 people were 21 years old or older and 65 years old or younger, and

The time of death was 3,644 within five years of the earthquake, which is about 97%, but 123 people have died since then.



Most of them are in Fukushima prefecture, and the fatigue and stress of the prolonged evacuation life have a serious impact on their health.
