At the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station of Tokyo Electric Power Company, which is undergoing decommissioning, an incineration facility for disposing of trees on the site where radioactive substances have adhered has been almost completed, and it is expected to undergo a final national inspection in November. ..

In the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, radioactive materials were widely diffused, so not only the reactor building with nuclear fuel but also the buildings and roads on the site were contaminated with radioactive materials.

Although the level is low, the trees on the site are one of them, and the incineration facility for disposing of the trees cut down by adding tanks etc. has been almost completed, and it is expected to undergo the final inspection of the country in November. ..

The facility is five stories above the ground, equipped with a filter that removes radioactive substances, and is scheduled to start operation in March next year.

The wood to be incinerated will be over 100,000 cubic meters.

In addition, waste with radioactive substances such as metal and concrete is expected to increase during decommissioning work, and TEPCO plans to reduce the volume and reuse it by reducing the volume to about one-third.

Noriyuki Saito of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Decommissioning Promotion Company says, "We have to dispose of it in the end, but there are many issues. We want to manage it responsibly."
