Hokkaido Tokachidake Volcanic tremors observed Small-scale volcanic earthquakes increased September 14, 11:26

Volcanic tremors were observed at Mt. Tokachi in the Daisetsu Mountains of Hokkaido before 9 am on the 14th, and small-scale volcanic earthquakes have increased since then.

The Meteorological Observatory is calling for people to stay away from the crater, saying that volcanic ash may suddenly erupt after maintaining eruption alert level 1.

According to the Sapporo District Meteorological Observatory, at Tokachidake, the movement of underground volcanic gas and hot water will be shown for about 5 minutes from 8:51 am on the 14th near the "62-2 crater" about 1 km northwest of the summit. It means that a possible volcanic tremor was observed.

In addition, changes were observed in the data with an inclinometer installed near the crater to capture changes in the ground, and an increase in small-scale volcanic earthquakes was confirmed after the volcanic tremor.

So far, the plume from the crater has not changed.

The Meteorological Observatory does not enter the vicinity of the crater because volcanic activity is slightly increased at Mt. Tokachi, and volcanic ash and hot water may suddenly erupt after continuing eruption alert level 1. I am calling.
