Japan Meteorological Agency “Continue maximum caution and evacuate early” Typhoon No. 10, September 6, 10:02

Regarding the future outlook for Typhoon No. 10, the Japan Meteorological Agency held a press conference at 9:30 am on the 6th, saying, "We will continue to be extremely vigilant in order to maintain a very strong power and approach southern Kyushu and the Amami region. I want you to evacuate as soon as possible."

Nakahisa Nohisa, Chief, Forecasting Division, Japan Meteorological Agency, said, "In the Amami region of Okinawa, there are severe winds and barges, and there is a risk of approaching or landing in southern Kyushu and the Amami region while maintaining a very strong influence. Record storms, high waves, high tides, and heavy rains may occur in areas approaching typhoons."

"A special warning is given, regardless of whether or not a warning is given"

He also explained that it was less likely to issue a special typhoon warning in Kagoshima Prefecture because the central pressure was slightly lower than expected.

After that, he said, "There is no significant change in the predicted maximum wind speed or maximum instantaneous wind speed. I want you to continue to be the maximum alert regardless of whether a special warning is issued or not."

Mr. Nakamoto added, "Evacuation timing varies depending on the area, but I would like you to carefully check what dangers are in the surroundings and act early."
