Typhoon No. 10 is a large and extremely strong typhoon heading north in the Daitojima region of Okinawa Prefecture, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed exceeded 50 meters in Minamidaitojima.

A typhoon may approach or land in Kyushu over the 7th.

The Japan Meteorological Agency urges that measures be taken before the typhoon approaches, as it may lead to record-breaking storms, high waves, high tides, and heavy rainfall that have never been experienced before.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency's announcement, a large and extremely strong typhoon No. 10 is expected to be traveling north-northwest at a speed of 15 km per hour on the sea 40 km west of Minami Daito Island at midnight.

The central air pressure is 920 hectopascals, the maximum wind speed near the center is 50 meters, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed is 70 meters.

Rain also intensified, and one hour before 5 pm on the 5th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism observed a heavy rain of 34 mm with a rain gauge installed in Takahara Town, Miyazaki Prefecture.

The typhoon is expected to approach Kagoshima Prefecture on the night of the 6th, after keeping its power and approaching the Amami region most during the day, and continuing northward thereafter.

Furthermore, there is a risk of going north and approaching Kyushu or landing even after 7 days.

Record storms, high waves, and high tides that have never been experienced in the southern part of Kyushu could cause serious damage.

The Japan Meteorological Agency has called for the greatest caution, saying that there is a high possibility that a special typhoon warning will be issued to Kagoshima Prefecture except the Amami region on the morning of the 6th.

In the Daitojima region, the wind is already blowing, and in the Amami region and in southern Kyushu, it is expected to blow over the 7th, and some houses may collapse.

On the sea, Okinawa/Amami and Western Japan are expected to become ferocious over 7 days, and the Pacific side of eastern Japan is expected to be overridden over 7 days.

Record storms and high waves may occur in areas approaching typhoons.

Watch out for heavy rain

Heavy rain may occur over 6 days in Okinawa and southern Kyushu/Amami and 7 days in southern Kyushu and northern Kyushu, causing heavy rain.

Large rivers may cause flooding in areas where typhoons approach.

The Japan Meteorological Agency urges that measures be taken before a typhoon approaches, saying that there may be record windstorms, high waves, high tides, and heavy rain that have never been experienced before.
