Housing damage caused by heavy rain 17551 buildings in 34 prefectures (7:30 am, 31st) 9:59, July 31st

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' Fire Department's summary as of 7:30 am on the 31st, housing damage due to this series of heavy rains has been confirmed in 34 prefectures nationwide, mainly in Kyushu, with a total of 17,551 buildings.

Of these, 270 houses were demolished
, including 223 in Kumamoto
Prefecture, 22 in Oita Prefecture,
and 10 in Kagoshima Prefecture.

Half destroyed
, 358 in Kumamoto prefecture,
123 in Oita
prefecture, 40 in Shimane prefecture, totaling 576.

A total of 855 buildings have been destroyed
, including 438 in Kumamoto Prefecture,
209 in Oita Prefecture,
and 67 in Gifu Prefecture.

In addition, the flood damage to the houses was caused by floor inundation:
5556 in Kumamoto prefecture,
1459 in Fukuoka
prefecture, 244 in Oita
prefecture, 182 in Yamagata prefecture where record heavy rains occurred on 28th of this month, etc. In total, 7676 buildings.
