Restoration work was underway, and the road closures near the site were lifted on the morning of the 28th, but the lanes outside the down line, where there is sediment, are still inaccessible.
The slope on the side of the road where the soil had collapsed was exposed for a height of 30 m and a width of 24 m, and the staff of the East Japan Expressway were taking photographs to investigate.

On the down line of the Tohoku Expressway, in Kuwaori Town, on the morning of the 28th, it was found that the soil was collapsing from the side of the road, and the Fukushima Iizaka interchange and the Kunimi interchange have been closed.
The slope on the side of the road has collapsed over a width of about 20 m, and heavy machinery is being used to remove soil on site.
There were a number of dump trucks that were carrying sand and waiting nearby.
The East Japan Expressway will proceed with the work so that the road can be closed within 28 days.

In Fukushima City and Aizuwakamatsu City, the back mountains of houses have collapsed, but there is no damage or injury to the houses.

In addition, underfloor inundation was reported in Fukushima City, Aizu-Wakamatsu City, and Kita-Shiobara Village, each with one household.
