The atmosphere in Kanto Koshin has become unstable due to the effects of front lines and low pressure, causing heavy rainfall locally. The southern Kanto region and Koshin may have heavy rains on the 18th and the Izu Islands on the 19th.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, warm and moist air is flowing toward the front extending near the southern coast of Kanto, so the atmosphere in Kanto Koshin becomes unstable, and rain clouds have developed over a wide area.

During one hour until 6:30 am, heavy rain was observed in ▽
Miura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, 34.5 mm,
▽ Toshima Island , Izu Islands, 30 mm.

In addition to the approaching low pressure, the front is expected to stagnate near the Izu Islands on the 19th, and as a result, heavy rain is intermittently accompanied by thunder over
18 days in the southern Kanto region and Koshin,
and on the 19th in the Izu Islands. There is a risk of heavy rain.

Especially in the Izu Islands, extremely heavy rain of 50 mm per hour may occur locally for the next few hours.

The amount of rainfall in the 24 hours until the morning of the 19th is expected to be
150 mm in the Izu Islands
, 100 mm in the southern Kanto
, 80 mm in Koshin, etc.

Furthermore, in the 24 hours until the morning of the 20th, it is
expected that it will rain 100 mm to 150 mm in the Izu Islands.

The Japan Meteorological Agency cautions against sediment-related disasters and calls for sufficient caution in flooding low-lying land and increasing rivers.

Also, be careful of heavy gusts such as lightning strikes and tornadoes.
