Food and beverages 100,000 items Transported to Kumamoto during today 12:52, July 7 Government

As support for the disaster-stricken area due to the heavy rain, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Eto said that 100,000 items including food and beverages could be delivered to the transportation base in Mashiki Town, Kumamoto Prefecture within 7 days. In addition, it plans to promptly send 500 pieces of milk for infants.

Minister Eto received a request from the disaster-stricken area due to heavy rain at a press conference after the cabinet meeting, and 38,000 out of 60,000 food items such as instant noodles, packed rice, canned food, and 40,000 drinks such as water and tea. Of those, about 30,000 have already been delivered to the transportation base in Mashiki-machi, Kumamoto Prefecture, and the rest are expected to be delivered within 7 days.

In addition, we would like to promptly deliver 500 pieces of powdered milk and liquid milk for infants requested on the 6th additional day.
