Kumamoto Kuma River basin Flooded area at least 1000 hectares July 6 0:19
A survey by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism found that the flooded area of the Kuma River in Kumamoto Prefecture had reached at least 1000 hectares.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, a helicopter photographed the basin of the Kuma River, which was flooded one after another, and found that at least 1060 hectares of water such as residential areas and fields were flooded.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is proceeding with drainage work using pump trucks, and as of 9 am on the 5th, the inundated area has decreased to 20 hectares.
In Kumamoto Prefecture, heavy rain may occur again on the 7th, so the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has deployed pump vehicles to drain water, and is urgently working to restore the bank of a collapsed river.
