Mt. Asama eruption alert raised to level 2 alert 2 km from crater June 25, 15:07
Asama Mountain, which is on the prefectural border between Nagano and Gunma, has been undergoing ground fluctuations that are thought to indicate the expansion of the mountain from around 20th of this month. We announced a crater warning at 3 pm and raised the eruption alert level to 2. It calls for warning of large volcanic blocks and pyroclastic flows associated with the eruption within a range of approximately 2 km from the crater, assuming that a small eruption may occur in the future.
