A painter and an illustrator have re-created a painting from a new perspective on a picture of people who were affected by the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake 10 years ago at the time of the earthquake, and a special exhibition is being held in Kobe.

NHK Kobe Broadcasting Station opened this exhibition 25 years after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

At the venue, Sannomiya Center Street in Kobe City, Chuo-ku, there were nine paintings of the affected people 10 years ago depicting the situation at the time of the disaster, and painters and illustrators repainted them from a new perspective based on them. Are displayed so that they can be compared.

Ten years ago, Japanese painter Kisho Kadoya repainted a picture of a collapsed city that she drew when she was a high school student.

This time, the city of Kobe affected and the self-portrait are drawn with a single line, and the memories and experiences of the earthquake are part of myself, and the lines are connected at hand to express the inheritance to the next generation That is.

Mr. Kakutani said, "Painting this time has given me a good opportunity to think again about the disaster. I hope people who have seen this picture will have the opportunity to know a little about the earthquake."

This exhibition will be held at Sannomiya Center Street until 19th and at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art from 22nd to 31st.
