Hometown Tax Payment to Hakone Tozan Railway Support January 3 4:27

Hakone Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, has been calling for donations through the hometown tax payment from this month to support the Hakone Tozan Railway, which is still suspended in some sections due to Typhoon No. 19 last October.

The Hakone Tozan Railway has a series of landslides and fallen trees due to the effects of Typhoon No.19, and the service between Hakone-Yumoto Station and Gora Station is still suspended.

In some places, the tracks were swept away along the base of the overpass, and restoration work required a lot of funding. In Hakone, we decided to call for support through our hometown tax payment.

Specifically, for about six months from this month, as a means of using hometown tax, a new item called "Support for the Hakone Tozan Railway" will be raised to raise donations. The donations will be used to fund the Hakone Tozan Railway and to purchase hydrangea seedlings to be planted along the tracks.

According to the Hakone Town Finance Division, "I would like you to support the Hakone Tozan Railway, an important infrastructure used by residents and tourists.
