Miyagi Marumori-machi 19:34 on Oct. 16 at the shelter shelter

In Marumori Town, Miyagi Prefecture, the cold weather has become severe, and there are concerns about the deterioration of the physical condition of people living in evacuation, so cold protection sheets that keep the body temperature are distributed and cold measures are being promoted at evacuation centers.

In Marumoricho, the minimum temperature on the morning of the 16th is 5 degrees and 4 minutes, and the cooling of the morning and evening is more severe than before the typhoon approached.

For this reason, at the evacuation center set up in the gymnasium of Marumori Elementary School, cold protection sheets made of aluminum and other materials have been distributed to all evacuated people since the 16th.

This sheet is about 2.2 meters in length and 1.4 meters in width, and you can keep your body temperature by wearing it.

At this evacuation center, we are also taking measures against the cold by preparing a warmer and installing four stoves.

A man in his 60s who had been evacuated said, “I just wore it and it was quite different and it was warm. It was cold and I woke up in the middle of the night, but today I just want to sleep.”

The evacuation town official said, “Tonight I prepared 80 liters of kerosene to put on the stove. I would like to respond while listening to the refugees.”
