National investigation at the site of the collapse of the bridge Nagano Ueda Oct. 15 21:36

On the site of Typhoon No. 19 in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, the bank of the Chikuma River collapsed and part of the bridge collapsed, and a field survey was conducted by the national investigation committee. At this place, the river flow seems to have changed from before, and the investigation committee considers that the erosion inside the levee may have progressed due to the change in flow, and considers an appropriate method of restoration work I have decided.

Due to Typhoon No. 19, the bank of the Chikuma River collapsed in Suwagata, Ueda City, and part of the bridge on the Ueda Electric Railway Bessho Line collapsed.

On the 15th, members of the investigation committee established by the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau conducted a field survey and confirmed that the inside of the dike was eroded by intense flow.

In addition, from interviews with local government officials, it is clear that the river flow seems to have changed from before, and the investigation committee may have eroded inside the dike due to the change in flow due to the increase in water. I pointed out that there is sex.

The Investigation Committee will consider an appropriate method of restoration work based on these possibilities.

Satoru Otsuka of Nagaoka University of Technology, who is the chairman of the research committee, said, “I want to investigate the geology and the shape of the dike in more detail and investigate the cause.”
