Along with Typhoon No. 19, the water level in the downstream of the Tone River flowing through Chiba Prefecture gradually increased due to heavy rains upstream.

In the vicinity of Kanzaki Bridge in Kanzaki Town along the Tone River, brown and muddy water was seen flowing, and many people were worried about watching from a distance.

In addition, the water level rose in Choshi City, which is located in the river mouth, and the tributary water did not flow into the Tone River and flowed back, causing damage to nearby farmland and houses. An elderly woman living nearby said, “It is the first time that water has come up to such a place.”

In response to rising water levels in the downstream of the Tone River, Abiko City has issued evacuation recommendations among local governments in the basin, as well as Narita City, Inzai City, Katori City, Choshi City, Sakae Town, Kanzaki Town, and Tonosho Town, respectively. Information on preparations for evacuation is announced, and elderly people and people with physical disabilities are calling to start evacuation.
