National Police Agency Dispatched wide-area emergency relief teams to the affected areas

In order to respond to the damage caused by Typhoon No. 19, the National Police Agency has upgraded its already established “Disaster Security Headquarters” to the “Emergency Disaster Security Headquarters” to collect information on damage and strengthen the system for rescue operations.

In response to requests from the National Police Agency, approximately 220 people were dispatched from 12 prefectures as Aichi Prefectural Police and Kyoto Prefectural Police as wide-area emergency relief teams. Inundated houses and facilities in the affected areas of Nagano and Miyagi Prefectures It is supposed to rescue those who are left behind and search for those who are not sure about their safety.

In addition, the “wide-area police air corps” dispatched by the police of 8 prefectures including the Metropolitan Police Department and the Kanagawa Prefectural Police are already carrying out rescue operations by helicopters in Miyagi Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture, and Nagano Prefecture.
