Sagamihara Shiroyama Dam End of emergency discharge Inflow to the dam decreases on October 13 at 1:55

With the approach of Typhoon No. 19, Kanagawa Prefecture has reduced the amount of inflow into the dam about the "emergency discharge" that has been carried out at the Shiroyama Dam in Sagamihara City from the evening of the 12th, and the same amount of water that has flowed downstream. It ended just after 1am.

At Shiroyama Dam in Sagamihara City, it was assumed that no more water could be stored in the dam, so an “emergency discharge” called emergency disaster prevention operation was conducted from 9:30 pm on the 12th.

According to the prefecture, after that, the typhoon went away and the amount of water flowing into the dam decreased due to the weakening of the rain, and the emergency discharge ended at 1:15 am because the amount of stored water decreased.

Although it was said that the water level of the Sagami River and the river flowing into the Sagami River could rise suddenly due to emergency discharge, there was a risk of large-scale flood damage, but so far there is no report of conspicuous damage .

In the future, it will continue to discharge water while adjusting the amount as usual.
