Building repair “not in time” Typhoon No. 15 damaged Izu Oshima No. 19 approaching October 9 at 18:07

In Izu-Oshima, Tokyo, where damage to buildings occurred one month ago due to Typhoon No.15, construction contractors on the island were busy with measures to prepare for the next typhoon in addition to repairing damaged buildings.

In Oshima-cho, Izu Oshima, typhoon No. 15 last month has damaged 926 buildings, including houses and accommodations.

After the typhoon passed, the construction contractors on the island have been asked to repair the buildings one after another, but we have been able to respond to the request because of the shortage of craftsmen who do the construction and the need to transport materials from outside the island. That is not.

In the accommodation facility in Oshimacho Motomachi, typhoon No. 15 caused damage such as breaking the window glass on the first floor of the building, but only temporary repairs such as sticking a plate to a broken place. Furthermore, because Typhoon No. 19 was approaching, the contractor was taking measures to stick the plate to the window facing the sea so that the glass would not break.

According to construction contractor Koichi Kato (73), “We have about 20 repair requests, but we have not been able to respond and we are waiting. I ca n’t make it in time. I hope the typhoon will do it for me. ”

Oshima-machi will hold a countermeasure meeting for Typhoon No. 19 on the 10th to discuss future responses, and residents are urged to confirm the information sent by the town and prepare for the typhoon as soon as possible.
