In Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, and the fishing port in Kōnan-cho, facing Tokyo Bay, horse mackerel called “golden horse mackerel”, which is loaded with fat, is landed from June to September. .
However, power outages continue at many fishing ports, and at Kanaya fishing port in Futtsu, pumps for refueling fishing boats cannot be used, and ice producers cannot make ice to keep fish fresh. This means that the stock is running out.
Fisherman Shota Ando (29) said, “If there is no ice, the freshness of the fish will drop, and the fish shop will not buy even the fish immediately after landing. I want the electricity to be restored soon.”
