The Self-Defense Forces started to remove fallen trees in Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture, where one of the trash incineration facilities has become unusable due to the power outage and fallen trees caused by Typhoon # 15.

In the Tomiura area of Minamiboso City, the road leading to the garbage incineration facility is blocked by a large fallen tree, the collection vehicle cannot pass, the facility cannot operate due to a power failure, and the garbage cannot be processed.

The city has begun accepting trash from the disaster on the 14th, and hastened to restore the incineration facilities.

On the 14th, in response to a request from Chiba Prefecture, 20 members of the Self-Defense Forces entered the site and began work to remove fallen trees blocking the road.

Four trees about 20 meters in length along the road fell to the opposite slope in the form of electric wires, and SDF members were working on cutting trees using a chainsaw.

Since there are many fallen trees around the site and large machines cannot be put in, the removal is done manually.

Yukio Takenaka 1st class Rikugo from the team working on the project said, “I hope to be able to help the residents as much as possible. I want to continue to respond to the needs of the residents in cooperation with related organizations.”
