Large corporate economic judgment for the first time in three quarters plus strong sales of TV and white goods September 11 11:40

According to the “Corporate Business Forecast Survey” conducted by the Ministry of Finance, the index showing the business sentiment from July to this month was positive 1.1 for the first time in three quarters. This was due to the strong sales of TVs and white goods.

The “Corporate Business Forecast Survey” is conducted every three months by the Ministry of Finance and the Cabinet Office for approximately 14,000 companies with capital of 10 million yen or more.

According to it, the company's business sentiment from July to this month was subtracted from the percentage of firms that responded “decreased” from the percentage of firms that reported “increased” compared to the previous three months. The index was positive 1.1 for all industries of large companies.

The index is positive for the first time in three terms.

This was mainly due to strong sales of “white goods” such as large-screen TVs, air conditioners and refrigerators, and increased demand for parts for automobiles and smartphones.

The index for the future outlook is for all industries of large corporations, with a negative 0.4 from October to December and a positive 1.7 from January to March next year.

According to the Ministry of Finance, “We believe that the economy is on a moderate recovery trend. I would like to keep an eye on future corporate trends, including the effect of the consumption tax hike next month.”
