Atmospheric instability over 22 days in west and eastern Japan Watch out for landslides and inundation

Under the influence of the front, atmospheric conditions have become unstable, mainly in western and eastern Japan, and rain clouds have developed locally. The unstable atmosphere is expected to continue over the 22nd, and there is a risk of heavy rain with lightning locally. Careful attention should be paid to landslide disasters and low land inundation.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, due to the influence of warm and humid air flowing from the west to the eastern Japan, the atmospheric conditions are unstable, especially in the western and eastern Japan.

During this time, rain clouds have developed in the Kanto region, etc., and rain has become stronger with lightning. In western Japan and eastern Japan, atmospheric instability is expected to continue over the 22nd, and there is a risk of heavy rain with local lightning. Especially in Hokuriku where the front line is stagnant, it is expected that the rain will intensify intermittently, and it is expected that it will rain 100 to 150 mm in many places in the 24 hours from the evening of the 21st to the evening of the 22nd.

The Japan Meteorological Agency has called for careful attention to landslides, low land inundation, river flooding, lightning strikes, and tornado gusts. If there is a sign that the developed cumulonimbus is approaching, such as sudden cold winds, move it into the building to ensure safety.
