Several people were shot dead on Saturday, August 3, at a shopping mall in El Paso, Texas, according to Mayor Dee Margo. Three people are believed to be in custody following the attack near a Walmart supermarket in the border town of Mexico, whose neighborhood has been fully cordoned off to facilitate police intervention.
"We were told several shooters," El Paso police said on Twitter. A police spokesman said a little later that calm had returned but warned residents to stay away from the area as a security measure.
No official record has yet been announced.
