Hezbollah announced that it carried out 12 attacks yesterday, Sunday, against Israeli sites off the southern Lebanese border and in the occupied areas of the Shebaa Farms and the Golan. In contrast, the Israeli occupation army said that it was strengthening its forces for the possibility of launching a large-scale attack that would include a ground operation in southern Lebanon.

The party said that it bombed the Meron settlement with dozens of Katyusha rockets, targeted the Maale Golan barracks, and attacked with two marches artillery positions in the Arar area in the occupied Golan.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the Mount Meron area, in the Upper Galilee, was subjected to missile strikes from Lebanon.

While the Israeli army confirmed that it monitored the launching of 35 missiles from Lebanon towards the region.

The party also bombed gatherings of soldiers at the sites of Al-Raheb, Birkat Risha, and Ramia, and bombed the site of Al-Radar, Al-Samaqa, and Al-Ramtha in the occupied Shebaa Farms.

Israeli raids

On the other hand, at least 5 people were killed - including 3 Hezbollah fighters - and 9 others were injured in an Israeli bombing on Saturday evening that targeted a house in the town of Khirbet Selm in southern Lebanon.

The official Lebanese Information Agency reported that an Israeli raid targeted a house in the Al-Ain neighborhood in the center of Khirbet Selm, killing a family of 5 people displaced from the town of Blida, and wounding more than 9 others.

The agency indicated that "Israeli fighters fired two missiles towards the house, which led to the martyrdom of the head of the family, his pregnant wife, their two children, and another person."

Later, Hezbollah announced that the father and his two sons were fighters in its ranks.

In a related context, the Israeli army reported that it attacked what it said was an armed group with anti-tank missiles in the Shebaa Farms area in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army spokesman said that reconnaissance forces spotted the militants, and that fighter jets raided their whereabouts in the area.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the surroundings of the towns of Shebaa, Kafr Kila and Kunine were subjected to Israeli artillery shelling.

Our correspondent said that an Israeli drone targeted a car in the town of Al-Habbariyah.

Incomplete official Lebanese statistics, which included all the villages on the border line, showed that about a thousand homes were completely destroyed in southern Lebanon, and about 10,000 homes were also partially damaged as a result of artillery shelling and Israeli raids since last October 8.

Preparations for war

In another development, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that Israeli forces completed an exercise that included providing the forces with logistical supplies by air and land, led by the Technologies and Logistics Authority, and in cooperation with the Northern Command, on the border with Lebanon.

The spokesman added that the Israeli forces trained to transport equipment, water, fuel, and types of ammunition during emergencies to the maneuvering forces fighting on the northern front. The exercise also included loading equipment by Air Force aircraft, and transporting equipment by vehicles on the ground.

The commander of the Northern Command of the Israeli army expressed their commitment to changing the security situation in the north in order to return the residents to their homes, indicating - during a visit to the Western Galilee - that they are constantly enhancing preparations to launch an attack on Lebanon.

“In solidarity with the Gaza Strip,” Hezbollah and Palestinian factions in Lebanon have exchanged intermittent bombardments with the Israeli army on a daily basis since October 8, 2023.

Which resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides of the dividing “Blue Line.”

Since last October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which has left tens of thousands of civilians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and a humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction, according to Palestinian and UN data.
