The State of Qatar renewed its strong condemnation of the Israeli threats to storm the city of Rafah, warning that this attack will lead to a humanitarian catastrophe in the city, which has become the last refuge for more than one and a half million displaced people inside the besieged Gaza Strip.

A statement by the Qatari Foreign Ministry - published on its account on the "X" platform - called on the international community to "take urgent measures and exert all pressure on Israel to stop its plans to invade the city of Rafah, commit genocide there, and forcibly displace the Palestinian people."

This statement was read by the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar in Geneva, Hind Abdel Rahman Al-Muftah, during a briefing on the latest developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip, organized by the Permanent Mission of Egypt in its capacity as Chairman of the Arab Group in Geneva.

Hind Al-Muftah stressed the need for the international community to take all necessary measures to ensure the implementation of the decisions of the United Nations and the International Court of Justice.

Hind Al-Muftah also called on us to work seriously to end the war on the Gaza Strip, achieve an immediate and complete ceasefire, and ensure the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law.

She stressed lifting all restrictions that hinder the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, and supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to enable it to carry out its humanitarian duties towards the Palestinian refugees.

It is noteworthy that many countries and organizations called on Israel to stop its imminent military operations against Rafah, warning of a massive humanitarian catastrophe and massacre if Israel did so.
