Beijing, 12 Dec (ZXS) -- Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and foreign minister, met in Beijing on 6 December with Myanmar's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dansui, who came to China to co-chair the Eighth Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting.
Wang Yi said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's Belt and Road Initiative, the 10th anniversary of the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and the 10th anniversary of the concept of amity, sincerity, benefit and tolerance in neighboring diplomacy. The LMC has always been at the forefront of implementing these important concepts. In this important year, China is ready to work with the Lancang-Mekong countries to hold the Foreign Ministers' Meeting to discuss cooperation and promote regional prosperity. Dansui said that the <>th Lancang-Mekong Foreign Ministers' Meeting is of great significance and looks forward to working closely with the Chinese side to make the meeting a complete success.
Wang Yi said that China and Myanmar are comprehensive strategic partners with traditional friendship between China and Myanmar, and have always supported and trusted each other. China hopes that Myanmar will achieve domestic reconciliation as soon as possible under the constitutional framework and continue the process of political transition. China has never interfered in Myanmar's internal affairs, appreciates Myanmar's adherence to the one-China principle, and believes that Myanmar will, as always, resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" and support China's great cause of reunification. China appreciates Myanmar's immediate support for the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping, and stands ready to share China's experience in Chinese-style modernization with Myanmar and actively promote the construction of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor.
Wang Yi stressed that the recent cooperation between China and Myanmar in cracking down on wire fraud in northern Myanmar and rescuing trapped people has achieved results, which has effectively deterred lawbreakers. The two sides should strengthen cooperation in law enforcement and security, and thoroughly eradicate the cancer of online gambling fraud.
Myanmar attaches great importance to the development of relations with China, admires China's development achievements, and is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields to jointly build a Myanmar-China community with a shared future, said Dansui said. Thanks to China for sharing cooperation opportunities with Myanmar under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, Myanmar will accelerate domestic coordination and actively promote the construction of economic corridors. Myanmar still faces many challenges in the country, and we hope to continue to receive China's support and help to achieve peace and stability in the country. Myanmar will resolutely crack down on telecom fraud and other cross-border illegal and criminal acts, and carry out comprehensive coordination and cooperation with China in this regard.
