At the same time, he added that Ukrainian citizens were deceived by slogans about the "European path."

"Unfortunately, stupefied people from the central and western parts of Ukraine really believed in slogans about a better future, European development of the country," RIA Novosti quoted Marochko as saying.

According to him, all this was a pretext to launch Ukraine into the "anti-Russia" project.

Earlier, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said that the United States organized the Euromaidan to weaken Russia.
