At the end of last week, Sam Altman was fired as CEO of Open AI – the company behind the service ChatGPT.
The reason behind the announcement is still unclear. According to the board, Altman did not have to be honest in his communication.
"This hits like a bomb. A complete shock, says SVT's economic commentator Alexander Norén.
"He would have been sure-footed"
According to Alexander Norén, the announcement may be a consequence of the fact that the board, which advocates a moderate AI development where you hurry slowly, is resisting what Sam Altman has shown recently – namely a desire to commercialize the company at a rapid pace.
According to Alexander Norén, Altman does all the right things for a commercially driven company.
"He would have been sure, but Open AI is a non-profit organization.
"The new, cool guy on the street"
Sam Altman has been involved in making Open AI from being almost unknown to being on everyone's lips in a short period of time.
According to Alexander Norén, he can be compared to other big tech entrepreneurs such as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
"Absolutely, he's the new, cool guy on the street that everyone wants to hang out with to hang out with. You think he knows where the future is going – and then the money comes after.
