The director of an Israeli military cemetery revealed that the number of Israeli army dead in the battles taking place in the Gaza Strip is high, stressing that 50 soldiers were buried in the cemetery where he works during the past two days.

The director of the cemetery, "Mount Herzl Military", David Oren Baruch – in a video published by the Israeli Ministry of Defense on Saturday – that the cemetery receives a large number of dead at the rate of a funeral every hour or every hour and a half.

"We are now going through a very difficult period, there is a funeral every hour, or an hour and a half. I'm supposed to open an enormous number of graves. Only in the Mount Herzl cemetery did we bury 50 soldiers in 48 hours."

He explained that his work focuses on preparing and caring for the graves of those killed by the Israeli security services.

The Israeli occupation army announced – on Saturday – the killing of 6 of its officers and soldiers and the injury of 7 others seriously wounded in Gaza, while the Qassam Brigades announced that it was able to kill and wound a number of soldiers, and destroy 17 Israeli vehicles in whole or in part in Gaza.

The Israeli military said it was engaged in fierce fighting with large numbers of fighters from a central battalion of the Qassam Brigades in the Zeitoun and Jabalya districts.

Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that the number of Israeli officers and soldiers killed in Gaza since the beginning of the ground incursion into the Strip on October 27 has risen to 58.

This brought the death toll of the officially announced Israeli army since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on the seventh of the same month to 375.
