"If you don't need to travel today, we advise against traveling on the Stockholm-Malmö route," SJ's press officer Jonas Olsson told SVT News Skåne at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
SJ estimates that there will be disruptions to train services throughout the day and that more departures will be cancelled.
"Since we can't redirect traffic across Gothenburg and have difficulty getting hold of replacement buses during the weekend, we can expect disruptions throughout Saturday," says Jonas Olsson.
Downed wires
The explosion caused bricks to be thrown out over the plant and ended up on the train tracks next to the sugar refinery. Overhead lines were also torn down.
"It is not safe to drive this route yet and therefore the Swedish Transport Administration has not given us the go-ahead to drive it," says Jonas Olsson, press officer at SJ.
Some trains will operate on the Stockholm–Hässleholm route, but from there there will be very limited replacement traffic to Malmö.
SJ urges its passengers to follow the latest online traffic information and their app.
