Noelia de Mingo transferred from the psychiatric prison of Foncalent to a hospital in Alicante due to the worsening of her condition

"At the time of the facts, she had a flowering of her mental illness in which the perception and understanding of reality were seriously altered and, therefore, limited her intellectual and volitional capacities, although it did not abolish them," considers the Public Prosecutor's Office, which in its brief recalls that already in 2003 the defendant was completely exonerated from mental insanity for three counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder and one count of grievous bodily harm.

On that occasion, he was placed in a security measure of internment in a penitentiary psychiatric center for a maximum period of 25 years, a measure that was replaced on October 6, 2017, according to medical and forensic reports, by outpatient treatment at his home in the town of El Molar that was valid until March 30, 2028.

Thus, according to the Prosecutor's Office, at around 11:30 a.m. on September 20, 2021, the defendant went to a supermarket in El Molar and, once there, armed with a knife, stabbed the cashier of the establishment in the left side of the abdomen "with the intention of ending her life".

She then went knife in hand towards a customer who was paying at the time and began a struggle with him, and then went to another supermarket worker who ran out into the street where she fell to the ground, a circumstance that the defendant took advantage of to stab her twice in the back.

The victim managed to get up thanks to the help of several passers-by and fled to a nearby pharmacy where he was able to take refuge, "despite the fact that she followed him with the knife in her hand, without him being able to access it, when the employees present there closed the doors".

Local Police officers tried to subdue her and during the struggle attacked an officer with their knife, although they did not hit him. She was eventually arrested and has been deprived of her liberty since 21 September 2021.
